For which machines is central lubrication suitable

Whether presses, milling, cutting and rolling machines – central lubrication systems can be used in practically all areas of metal processing.

What is the difference between metalworking fluid and lubricant?

The metalworking fluid works at the cutting point: cooling, flushing, reducing friction at the edge. The lubricant works in guides, spindles and bearings. They are two separate circuits with different jobs and different rules — and they must not mix.

What is tramp oil and why is it a problem?

Tramp oil is lubricating oil that has entered the coolant. It floats up, disturbs the emulsion, promotes microbial growth and clearly shortens the coolant's service life. Because a change means new fill, disposal and cleaning together, tramp oil usually costs more than the lubricant saved.

How often does a water-mixed coolant have to be checked?

Regularly for concentration, pH and microbial load; DGUV Regel 109-003 describes the requirements for working with metalworking fluids. In addition, TRGS 611 restricts substances that can form N-nitrosamines. The results have to be documented.

Why does a linear guide judder at slow feed?

That is stick-slip: where the film breaks in places, static friction builds force that sliding friction releases abruptly. It shows as chatter marks on the surface. The remedy is not more lubricant but more frequent small doses, so the film never breaks.

Why is automatic lubrication worthwhile on a machine tool?

Because the points are small, numerous and unreachable during operation: linear guides, ball screws, spindle bearings. Metering sits in the range of hundredths of a cm³ per cycle, and lubrication has to run while the axis moves. Manual greasing can do neither.

How can lubricant consumption be reduced?

Not through the purchase price but through metering per point. Over-greasing is the commoner mistake and costs twice: on lubricant, and on the coolant whose service life falls through tramp oil. If grease or oil escapes at the points, the dose is too high.
