SUMO II electric pumps

High-performance electric lubrication pumps for demanding dual-line and progressive central lubrication systems in heavy industry – delivering oil and grease reliably to large machines with many lubrication points, even under harsh conditions.

PRINCIPLE

High-performance lubrication pumps for heavy industry

The SUMO range from DropsA comprises electrically driven lubrication pumps for demanding centralised lubrication systems in heavy industry. They are designed for dual-line systems (System 02) and progressive systems (Series 26) and supply large machines with many lubrication points, even under harsh ambient conditions. A double pump module gives the SUMO its characteristic redundancy: if one element fails, the second keeps the system supplied — a decisive advantage where unplanned downtime is expensive. SUMO pumps pair naturally with a dual-line distributor or a progressive distributor and are controlled by a VIP5 PRO control unit . Double pump module for redundancy — the system stays supplied even if one element fails Designed for dual-line (System 02) and progressive (Series 26) networks High pressure up to 400 bar; oil and grease up to NLGI 2 Integrated dual-line inverter, IO-Link interface and laser level sensor Quick-swap design and ATEX variants for hazardous areas In day-to-day operation the SUMO is built for low-maintenance, high-availability duty. The double pump module provides redundancy, the integrated laser level sensor keeps the reservoir state visible, and the IO-Link interface reports status back to the plant control so that any deviation is detected early. Quick-swap components keep service interruptions short — an important factor in steelworks, paper mills and offshore plants where downtime is costly. When designing a system, the SUMO is matched to the network: the integrated dual-line inverter and the choice between full-size and Mini-SUMO let the pump be sized to the number of points, the line length and the medium. Combined with a VIP5 PRO control unit and the right distributors, this makes the SUMO a dependable heart for large, demanding central lubrication installations that have to run reliably for years.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about SUMO electric pumps

What is the SUMO pump used for?
The SUMO is an electrically driven lubrication pump for demanding dual-line (System 02) and progressive (Series 26) central lubrication systems in heavy industry, supplying large machines with many lubrication points.
What makes the double pump module important?
It provides redundancy: if one pump element fails, the second continues to supply the system — keeping critical machinery lubricated and avoiding unplanned downtime.
What pressures and media does the SUMO handle?
Up to 400 bar (380 bar for the Mini-SUMO II), with oil and grease up to NLGI 2 — suitable for the high pressures and large networks of steelworks, paper mills and offshore plants.
Is there an ATEX version?
Yes. SUMO ATEX and Mini-SUMO II ATEX variants are available for explosion-hazard areas (e.g. ATEX Zone 1/21 & 2/22).
How is the SUMO controlled and monitored?
Via its integrated dual-line inverter, IO-Link interface and laser level sensor, and through a control unit such as the VIP5 PRO — for reliable, monitored operation.
