Regulations and what they mean
On a packaging line it is not the repair time that decides the downtime but the procurement time. The most important preparation is therefore not a maintenance measure but complete system documentation.
| Detail | Why |
|---|---|
| pump type with part number | ranges differ in reservoir, voltage and connection |
| medium with viscosity or NLGI class | decides whether a replacement unit fits at all |
| divider type and allocation per outlet | a progressive divider is not freely interchangeable |
| sensors: type, voltage, signal | NPN or PNP decides the controller hookup |
| target quantities and limits | otherwise the system is re-tuned after the swap instead of restored |
Treat wear parts separately from spares
Seals, filters and hoses age predictably — they belong in the inspection rhythm, not in the emergency stock: the maintenance plan (PDF, German) has the filter monthly, with an eye on the differential pressure, and the lines including chafing points quarterly. True spares are what stops the line: pump, divider and the sensor that reports the fault — for a cycled line, stocking them usually beats the downtime hour.
The change itself is the critical moment
After any intervention: bleed, check the pressure build-up, verify the limits. Skip that and the line keeps running on a system that shows pressure but pumps air — the damage appears at the bearing. Spares for DropsA systems: spare parts.
